Finally! No rain, snow, ice, or polar vortexes! I did suffer a head injury that pushed the filming to this week instead of last, but that’s ok. It was a great day yesterday. I’ll have this all edited together and posted up this week! Thank you for your patience!

Latest update, April 12… I didn’t make it for April 5. Long story short, cold winter, technical problems, and my butcher retired. I’ve found 2 suitable replacements for him, and have solved my technical problems. Next weekend I’ll be filming season 2’s pilot. I’m also pleased to announce that I’ve entered my first BBQ competition. I’ll have more on that in May.

Ok, date set: April 5, 2014. I *might* have some highlights from a Sausage grinding/cooking class I’m attending next week as well. I’ll keep you posted on what to expect as far as what we’ll be making.

I wanted to give a quick update on where things are at. As you’ve seen, we’ve had a long, brutal winter her in the midwest. My cooking area in the backyard is starting to thaw. I should be on track to kick the show back off next weekend, March 22. If things don’t cooperate, It April 5 instead. I’ll keep you posted, and have good things planned for 2014!

I had some weather experiences this past weekend that taught me a few new things about my Weber Smokey Mountain smoker. I was holding a solid 225 degrees for a while, when all of the sudden it jumped to 235, then dropped to 210 in under 5 minutes. I then found myself on a bit of an adventure. Here is my story, and experiences for you to learn how to handle wind, cold, and rain.
